Mahjong players battled it out in a game of skill, strategy, and calculation at the World Series of Mahjong Tournament First Philippine Qualifying Event held last November 21, 2015 at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila. The whole-day event was attended by the best Mahjong players in the country, ready to test their luck and skill to win over P800,000 in prizes. Signature club members of City of Dreams were invited to participate in the qualifier round, while many players paid cash buy-ins to participate. Spotted at the event was former Governor Chavit Singson.
The champion was able take home P300,000 worth of free play (slot xtra credits or promotional chips) and a seat to the World Series of Mahjong Championship in Macau, complete with airfare and accommodation. The qualifying-round winner will be competing against Mahjong experts from around the globe at the main event on December 5-6, 2015 in Macau, with more than P27 million worth of prizes to be given away.
