The much-awaited Likhang HABI Market Fair (LHMF) returns to SPACE at One Ayala in Makati City from October 9 to 11, 2026, with the theme “Worth Every Thread.” The three-day fair celebrates Filipino artistry, heritage, craftsmanship, and the continuing evolution of Philippine textiles.
The flagship project of HABI: The Philippine Textile Council, the fair brings together around 100 carefully curated exhibitors, including weavers, artisans, designers, makers, and textile advocates from different parts of the country. Visitors can discover a diverse selection of traditional and contemporary textiles, including inabel from Ilocos, suksok from Aklan, and t’nalak from Cotabato, as well as creative applications of indigenous fibers such as abaca and pineapple.
Now on its 16th year, Likhang HABI Market Fair has grown beyond a marketplace into a vibrant community where weaving enterprises and advocates gather to share stories, exchange ideas, develop skills, and promote the preservation of Philippine textile traditions.
The fair will also feature Kwentong Kultura, a series of educational talks focusing on textile appreciation, preservation, curation, product development, and entrepreneurship. Documentary screenings, including special features produced by i-Witness of GMA News and Public Affairs, will further provide audiences with a deeper understanding of Philippine textiles and the communities behind them.
Guests can also view entries and winning pieces from the 9th Lourdes Montinola Piña Weaving Competition and the 5th Eloisa Hizon Gomez Abaca Weaving Competition, with awarding ceremonies scheduled on October 10 and 11, respectively.
Through these initiatives, HABI continues its mission to promote, preserve, and ensure the continuity of Philippine textile traditions, while creating opportunities for these traditions to thrive in the present and inspire future generations.
