Diamond Hotel Philippines lights up for the season

Diamond Hotel Philippines recently ushered in the holiday season with its annual Christmas Tree lighting, graced by guests and members of the Diamond Hotel Philippines executive committee.

The 25-foot tropical-inspired Christmas tree was illuminated in the upper lobby. This year’s theme, Tropical Harvest, pays homage to the bounty of nature with a tree adorned with large tropical leaves, native fruits, orchids, and other flora endemic to the Philippines.

Asia’s premiere vocal group The Company performed popular Christmas songs, to the delight of the guests. The event also treated the children of Malate Church to an afternoon of holiday cheer courtesy of the hotel employees.

Present at the event were assistant trade commissioner of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation Adhwa Azmil, Diamond Hotel Philippines general manager Gino Marinas, and Department of Tourism Manila culture and arts director Charlie Duñgo.

Diamond Hotel also invites guests to join its charity initiative in support of Better World Tondo and Bahay Aruga. With a P300 donation, guests can adorn the Charity Trees in the lobby with a festive ornament.

Luxent Hotel celebrates start of the holidays

Luxent Hotel’s Lush Bar & Lounge on Timog Avenue, Quezon City invited guests to cocktails to celebrate the official start of the holiday season and introduce the year’s chosen charity partner.

This year’s theme reflected the hotel’s proximity to stars and celebrities, making it the go-to destination for press conferences, movie shoots, TV shows, and teleseryes. Performers included The Voice Teens alumnus Emar Jhun de Guzman and the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU Chorale.

The hotel’s chosen beneficiary for the year is the cancer patients of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, with an outreach activity set for Dec. 13. Event partners were Destileria Limtuaco & Co., Inc. and Great Wall Arts.

The Manila Hotel holds annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony

The Manila Hotel officially welcomed the holiday season with the eagerly anticipated Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.  Each year, the hotel’s grand lobby transforms into the heart of Manila’s Christmas festivities, with a towering Christmas tree adorned in sparkling ornaments. This year, guests are invited to a Filipino holiday celebration with the theme “Pasko Natin!”

This year’s décor is the creation of The Manila Hotel’s social director and design consultant Rachy Cuna, who masterfully incorporated salakot, traditional Filipino headgear, and native materials.

The festivities were graced by distinguished guests, including The Manila Hotel chairman Basilio C. Yap, president Atty. Jose D. Lina, Jr., director and executive vice president Dr. Enrique Y. Yap, Jr., vice president for sales and marketing Marvin Kim Tan, Manila Bulletin publisher Herminio “Sonny” Coloma, Ambassador of Israel Ilan Fluss, Minister of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines deputy representative Dustin Teng-Shi Yang, Bb. Pilipinas International 2024 Myrna Esguerra, and officers of the Philippine Association of Wedding Planners.

Representatives from event sponsor Esguerra Kurobuta also joined the festivities. Guests were treated to a selection of premium Kurobuta Berkshire products, through a grand waiters’ parade.

The Office of the President Chorale, under the musical direction of Professor Ronald Y. Bello, serenaded guests with classic Christmas carols. “Our Christmas Tree becomes more than just a decoration each year—it becomes the heart of the city’s holiday gatherings,” said Atty. Lina. 

The event was further enriched by the performance of children from The House of Refuge Foundation, a long-time partner of The Manila Hotel dedicated to providing shelter and support for street children..

Tiffany & Co. puts up stunning 8-m-tall tree in Greenbelt

Kicking off the Holiday season with a spectacular illuminated Christmas Tree, Tiffany & Co. celebrates the season with aplomb.

On the evening of November 13th, market director Patrick Da Silva welcomed guests to Greenbelt 3 to officially witness the momentous light-up.

Alongside Da Silva and Mariana Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Mall Management, seven popular celebrities graced the event: James Reid, Sarah Lahbati, Michelle Dee, Liz Uy, Kylie Versoza, Tim Yap, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

This tree boasts the brand’s iconic Bird on a Rock design as a tree topper, first introduced in 1965. The design has remained timeless for the past 60 years. Glass gems and pink sapphire are recessed within the tree’s cavities, and the base features 480 backlit glass prisms. It took an entire week to assemble after arriving from Milan, Italy. This is the very first tree for Tiffany & Co. in Southeast Asia.

Victoria Sports Club shines bright with grand Christmas Tree lighting

The holiday season at Victoria Sports Tower officially began with a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. EDSA Quezon City was decorated with dazzling lights, creating a festive ambiance that brought Christmas joy to the busiest highway in Metro Manila.

Attendees included Quezon City District 4 Councilor Irene Belmonte, Barangay South Triangle captain Beverly Gaw, guests, and staff from Victoria Sports Club. Dr. Mario A. Isic gave a heartfelt welcome address, highlighting the significance of community, kindness, and unity during this festive season: “May this Christmas bring us closer together, inspire acts of kindness, and fill our lives with joy and hope for the coming year.” 

Elha Nympha, grand winner of The Voice Kids Season 2, sang popular songs, while the Our Lady of Fatima University Chorale performed traditional Christmas tunes.

The “Banchetto sa Samar Ave.,” a collaborative project between Victoria Sports Club and Barangay South Triangle featuring a variety of food stalls, traditional crafts, and seasonal treats, will be held December 13-22, 2024, from 6 to 11 pm, at Samar Avenue, Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City.

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar illuminates the holidays

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar embraced the spirit of Paskong Pinoy with a grand Christmas Tree lighting ceremony that featured performances, messages, and a display of Filipino culture and artistry. The event began with an opening act by Koro Bangkal, followed by the Bataan High School for the Arts, who led the audience in a solemn opening prayer.

The Las Casas Dance Troupe dazzled the crowd with a high-energy dance performance.

The ceremony’s highlight was when Mayor Rommel Del Rosario, Vice Mayor Ron Del Rosario, Las Casas president Erwin Pineda, and Anne Orosco took the stage for the much-anticipated Christmas tree lighting ceremony, accompanied by a collaborative performance of the Christmas classic Kumukutitap by the Bataan High School for the Arts and the Jose De Piro Orchestra. The Jose De Piro Center for the Arts supports underprivileged youth, and the Bataan High School for the Arts is renowned for its multidisciplinary focus on Filipino culture.
