These catwalk beauty looks will inspire you to make the world your runway. Here’s a rundown of the key makeup colors to wear if one is aiming for a bold and new attitude.

Black eyes

The perennial feline flick gets a graphic upgrade for a mysterious look. Sometimes, the key is imperfection. Fully rim your eyes a la Amy Winehouse and smudge at the lower part on purpose like the beauty looks at Versus Versace.

Pink flush

The industry’s beauty gurus have sent contouring to its deathbed. Instead of reaching for bronzers and dark powders, makeup artists reached for blush to sculpt the face.

For full-on rosy beauty, apply a single shade of pink on the lids, cheeks, and lips. To highlight the face, pull your hair back in a slightly messy, wet ’do.

Electric hue

All eyes will be bright, literally! The LBDs of makeup, cat and smoky eyes, are reimagined in jolts of colors for an upbeat vibe. Using a smudge-proof or waterproof eyeliner or cream eyeshadow stick, swipe your bold color of choice into a classic wing, painterly stroke, or a solid chunk that’s perfect for monolids.

On the red corner

Cherry bright lips liven up any season, celebrating with a penchant for striking beauty. Pick up your favorite shade of rouge and dab on the lips for a just-bitten stain, swipe on for full opacity, or pile on with gloss for a fuller pout.

The perfect pairing to a statement lip is barely-there eyes opened up with fanned out lashes. Wear them spidery like the ’60s by applying a thick coat of jet black mascara (Max Factor False Lash Epic). At N°21, focus was on the outer corners. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux cut falsies into half and applied them on the outer side of the lash line for a more lifted look.

Skin is in

Perfect skin, that is. Skincare and makeup base got full attention at various runway shows, highlighting the beauty of glowing complexions. A luminous glow, with the help of face oils and iridescent highlighters, provides a light-catching effect. To cop the look, prep the skin with La Mer The Renewal Oil and apply Kanebo Luster Cream Foundation evenly on the skin. Swipe an illuminator on the high points of your face and inner corners of your eyes. Top suggestions for best highlighters to use: Smashbox Spotlight Palette, NARS Hot Sand Illuminator, Laura Mercier Face Illuminator, Benefit Watt’s Up!, M.A.C Strobe Cream, and Becca Skin Perfector Pressed Powder.

As for the brows, bold and brushed up is the way to go. To keep hair in place, coat brow spoolie in Full Brow Brow Wax and brush into the hair until desired look is achieved.

Emerald City

A hint of green is a flattering and wearable update to glamorous makeup. Pat and smudge green eyeshadow or pencil under the lower lashline or tucked into the outer corners for a modern twist on the good old smoky eye. Keep it matte in the daylight, or go for a mermaid-like shimmer at night. Remember to keep the rest of the face neutral to draw all attention to the eyes.
