History is filled with strong men who moved mountains for the women they love. So what can Mayor Duterte, one of the strongest men in the country, do in the name of love?

June 2015, in a talk show in Abs-cbn Davao, Gikan sa Masa, Mayor Duterte publicly announced that he will adopt Berna Romulo-Puyat’s (who he considers his ideal First Lady) brother, Pasig Representative Cong. Roman Romulo , as his Senator. He slips on the show saying Roman Romulo has done great things for education and it is time for him to be a senator. “I will adopt him in my senatorial slate. He is a Romulo and they (the Romulos) have a good name” he said.

Now that Mayor Duterte has finally made it official that he isn’t running for President in the upcoming 2016 Elections and has filed his certificate of candidacy for Davao City Mayor, what help can Roman Romulo expect from Mayor Duterte in his campaign as an independent Senatorial candidate?

“I will still campaign for Roman Romulo.  My word is my honor and I honor my word”, says Duterte.
