Okada Manila ushers in the season with its ‘Harmony of Lights’

At Okada Manila, the spectacular Christmas tree serves as the property’s centerpiece, with the lighting ceremony led by Okada Manila’s top executives, including Wendy Ni, Okada Manila’s vice president for strategic marketing.  The ceremony featured entertainers such as “Asia’s Limitless Star” Julie Anne San Jose, the Malabon Concert Singers, and the Okada Manila Entertainment Group.

The 30-foot Christmas tree is adorned with confectionery-inspired ornaments such as oversized candy canes, ice cream, and cupcakes.

Following the mesmerizing “Harmony of Lights” peg, Okada Manila also opened its much-anticipated Christmas Village, dubbed as the “Home of Wonder,” at the Crystal Pavilion.  The ribbon cutting ceremony was spearheaded by the Department of Tourism’s regional director (NCR) Sharlene Batin. The Christmas Village dazzled, and the Interactive Fairy Baubles is an enchanting experience for guests to enjoy, with holiday-themed installations.

For a Christmas shopping spree, the property features the longest-running Noel Bazaar at the Crystal Pavilion until Dec. 17. Weekly events including performances by Kapuso celebrities, the famed “Celebrity Ukay-Ukay,” and new merchants joining the festivities.

Okada Manila’s top executives

For a memorable staycation, Okada Manila offers its Festive Family Getaway package, a relaxing overnight staycation, which includes foot massages for the parents and PLAY vouchers for the kids. ‘The Gathering Star’ shines on the season at Sheraton Manila Bay

Sheraton Manila Bay kicked off the festive season with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on 9 November 2023, at the hotel’s newly renovated MainLobby, embracing the theme “Gatherings & Stories.”

The tree lighting event showcased the 15-foot Sheraton Tree of Sustainability, an eco-conscious masterpiece crafted from actual tree branches, sustainable wood shavings, moss, and dried fruits.

Hotel general manager Richard Masselin presided over the ceremonial lighting, joined by Juvy Agudon, director of sales and marketing; Alex Encarnacion, director of engineering; Jennifer Labita, director of finance; and Roy Aguba, director of human resources. Guests of honor were Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna–Pangan, Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” C. Nieto, and Barangay 699 chairman Edwin “Amo” Chan. In a united celebration of Paskonstelasyon, all Marriott properties in the Philippines launched their holiday festivities, each debuting their symbolic star, with the Gathering Star for Sheraton Manila Bay.

The ceremony was hosted by hotel marketing manager Stephanie Cabrejas, and complemented by the melodies of the Lighter Side Movement.

The Ascott Limited Philippines launches ‘Celebrate Your Way’ holiday campaign

The Ascott Limited Philippines (Ascott) recently introduced its “Celebrate Your Way in Ascott” holiday campaign to showcase experiences awaiting guests across Ascott-branded properties. Featured are curated options ranging from art-inspired celebrations and sustainable experiences to urban adventures, community gatherings, and luxurious indulgences aligned with the hotel’s Brand360 initiatives and Ascott Star Rewards.

To mark the season, the hotel unveiled a series of holiday offers and events, commencing with the Christmas tree lighting at Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila last November 21. Hosted by Daniela Laurel, the event opened with a welcome speech by director of sales and marketing Denise Olegario, and insights on CSR activities from Gwen Contreras, assistant residence manager. The “Nutcracker”-themed celebration featured the tree lighting ceremony inspired by the ballet, with performances by The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and Steps Dance Studio.

Ascott also launched its annual holiday corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Hopes and Wishes,” in partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK). For every P200 donation, guests can purchase a wish card, write their personal wishes, and hang the card on the property Christmas tree. Ascott will fulfill one wish per property, and the effort will contribute to the Gawad Kalinga community. Ascott also thanked recent partner Haribon Foundation, with whom a tree-planting activity was conducted on November 16, 2023, at Mt. Batulusong, Kaliwa Forest Reserve in San Andres, Tanay, Rizal. The planting of 1,250 seedlings contributes to ongoing reforestation efforts in the region.
