It’s all about the eyes—the lower lashes, in particular. Line them bright or draw in false lashes using a felt tip eyeliner pen—the easiest way to spice up a bare face. Stick to smudge-proof and waterproof formulas to keep your makeup in place. No panda eyes welcome!

Facial ornaments, decals on fresh faces, and inner corner highlights are also trendy, so why not mix them up for a fancier look at night? To tone down this technique, subtly swipe silver highlighter on the inner corners of the eye to give you a wider, “I’ve-slept-for-10-hours” gaze.

Shades of red, whether crimson or Bordeaux, are classic makeup go-tos. To update, it’s all about the application. Put on your lipsticks using your ring finger or directly from the bullet, but in a dabbing motion, concentrating the product at the center of the lips and patting the excess as you reach the outline. You can even go a little past your Cupid’s bow to look as if you’ve just had a good kiss.

Keep it girly and jazz up your usual ponytail with oversized bows and ribbons or embellished hair accessories.

Pastel fantasy

It’s all about going graphic! Pastel colors are definitely groundbreaking, but spring-inspired beauty has an otherworldly air that transcends time and season. Here, perfection is not the key, as streaky, painterly strokes across the eyes are the way to apply eye shadow.

Pink out loud

Ethereally beautiful, an all-over pink tint romanticizes a gloomy season. Pick up a creamy lipstick, cream blush (Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge), or liquid blush (NARS Orgasm), and softly apply on the lids, cheeks, and lips for a monochromatic look under five minutes.
