Unique New Year’s Eve cocktail: Bird’s Eye View

Bring out the bubbly! But this time, we’re giving it a special, Filipino twist and kick! Calamansi and chili in champagne, anyone?

Any celebration is never complete without some drinks, especially on New Year’s Eve. Planning to pop a bottle of champagne? For added twist and flavor, mix it with a citrus liqueur and throw in poked Bird’s eye chili (labuyo) and calamansi.

Bird’s Eye View

What you need:

30ml Manille Liqueur de Calamansi

Cava or champagne or Prosseco

1 pc Bird’s eye chili (labuyo)

How to make it:

  1. Pour cold Manille Liqueur de Calamansi into champagne flute
  2. Fill up flute with champagne
  3. Drop in poked Bird’s eye chili (labuyo)

Manille Liqueur de Calamansi is a vodka-based drink infused with calamansi rind essence. It is available at supermarkets, 7-Eleven outlets, Kultura, and can be purchased online at www.liquorexpress.ph.
