The Peninsula Manila helps raise funds with afternoon tea and staycations
For four weeks until October 15, The Peninsula Manila is embarking on a campaign to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Beginning with the lighting of the grand fountain that has turned the landmark icon at the junction of Ayala and Makati Avenues into a shining pink beacon of hope, other initiatives include a pink-themed afternoon tea and a Pink Staycation room package where a portion of the proceeds raised will benefit the breast cancer-related advocacies of the Philippine Foundation for Breast Care, Inc.
The Philippine Society of Medical Oncology reports that the Philippines is at the center of the battle against breast cancer. The Philippines has the highest incidence rate in Asia and is among the top 10 countries with the most cases of breast cancer. The disease is so common that one in every 13 Filipino women is expected to develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
It is for this reason that The Peninsula Manila has chosen to partner with the Philippine Foundation for Breast Care, Inc. in a long-term partnership that has resulted in the expansion of Quezon City’s East Avenue Medical Center’s Breast Care Center Annex which is run by the foundation. With the assistance of The Peninsula Manila, the annex was expanded, facilities improved, and a total of 20 new chemotherapy infusion chairs purchased, with the assistance of Estée Lauder Companies and Pink for Life.
The Peninsula in Pink Afternoon Tea is priced at P2,890 for a three-tiered set with teas of your choice, and P4,890 for a three-tiered set with two flutes of champagne. The Peninsula Manila Pink Staycation room package comes with a deliciously pink turn-down amenity as well as a chance to sample The Lobby’s pink-tinted afternoon tea. Pink Staycation Package room rates start at P 15,100 for a Deluxe Room. All prices are subject to VAT, 10 percent service charge, and applicable government taxes.
The Philippine Foundation for Breast Care Inc. (PFBCI) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to serving indigent patients by sourcing financial assistance and providing emotional support. PFBCI is accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification.

Aside from contributions from purchases made of promotional items, staying guests may also give voluntary donations to StageZero by coordinating with the front desk or concierge at check-out.
