Toyota Motor Philippines, the leader in electrified mobility in the Philippines, unveiled its exhibit headlined by its wide selection of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) at the opening of the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), last September 15 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

As part of its commitment of contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality, TMP gave the guests at the motor show the opportunity to view and experience hybrid technology with test drive activities available at the event.

TMP’s Hybrid line up has been empowering Filipinos to switch towards a more sustainable driving. As one of Toyota’s multiple paths to vehicle electrification that lead to the ultimate goal of carbon neutrality, Toyota’s hybrid technology provides practical solution that is readily available and within Filipinos’ reach.

To date, TMP offers multiple variants of HEVs with Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, Camry, and RAV4—all of which are available for display and test drive at the 8th PIMS.

From L-R; TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operation Sherwin Chualim, Senior Vice President for Marketing Masatoshi Toiya, Senior Vice President and Overall Head of Marketing Jose Maria Atienza, TMSPH CEO Critina Arevalo, TMP Vice Chairman Dr. David Go, CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, CAMPI Treasurer Atty. Louie Santos and CAMPI Vice President Atty. Imelda Brown

“The HEVs’ combination of the conventional engine and a self-charging electric motor is still the best, most practical, and affordable choice for Filipinos at this time,” said TMP Senior Vice President and Overall Head of Marketing, Mr. Jose Maria Atienza during Toyota’s opening program at PIMS. “You can expect us to further expand our electrified footprint in the coming years,” he added.

Globally, Toyota, together with Lexus, has already sold 20 million electrified cars to date, with an equivalent contributed global carbon emissions reduction of more than 160 million metric tons.

TMP’s pursuit to carbon neutrality

To achieve carbon neutrality means having a net result of zero emissions.

“Toyota answers the call to make vehicles that are kinder to the environment and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. But we understand that there is no single solution towards Carbon Neutrality. We choose the multi-path approach, exploring various electric vehicle technologies like HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, FCEVs and even use of Synthetic and Alternative fuels like Hydrogen to realize this goal,” said Atienza.

TMP is proactive in promoting green mobility in the Philippines. In 2009, it introduced the electrification movement in the Philippines with its very first hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), the Prius. Locally, more than 90 percent of electrified vehicles (xEVs) users drive a Toyota or Lexus electrified vehicle.

Aside from its HEV’s, TMP is also showcasing its performance cars under the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing brand – The GR Supra, the GR Yaris and the GR 86.

Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines Inc., TMP’s new-launched mobility subsidiary, also joins the Toyota exhibition with services such as Fleet Connected Services, Logistics Matching Platform, myTOYOTA Drive PH, myTOYOTA Shuttle, and Kinto One.
